We had a gentle south easterly breeze most of the week and some heavy down pours. The water temperature was 17 degrees and there was plenty of surface activity in the morning but as the sun came out the fish slowed down. However, we still had some great catches during the week. Fraser McNaughton (Bonnybridge) weighed in 2 fish for 6lb 8oz using a floating line with a size 16 Griffiths Gnat. Neil Bruce (Falkirk) landed and safely returned 2 rainbows on a c/r ticket using floating line with size 16 yellow owl buzzers. Willy Skinner (Falkirk) weighed in a nice blue for 2lb 8oz using intermediate line size 10 yellow dancer. David Skinner (Denny) had 2 rainbows for 5lb fishing with floating line size 10 Olyve Damsel. Gary Irvine (Camelon) Fishing c/r landed a cracking rainbow for 3lb 8oz safely returned using a size 12 daiwl bach. Bert Nelson (Carluke) weighed in 1 rainbow for 2lb 10oz using a floating line with a size 12 segmented daddy. Alan McLaren (Stenhousemuir) managed to catch two rainbows for 4lb 10oz on the surface using a size 14 Kate McLaren. Alan Meek (Cambuslang) landed and returned a nice blue on the F/Fly size 16. Eck Mulhorlick (Oakley) returned 3 rainbows fishing black shipmans size 16. We also had a visit from the Bathgate British Legion who caught 8 fish in total weighing in at 18lb. That’s all for now.
