Situated in the busy central belt of Scotland, Burnhouse Lochan offers a unique and peaceful country escape. Sharing the banks with our resident herd of Red Deer and free range game birds, anglers get to experience nature at its finest, with regular visits from Ospreys, Kingfishers, Canada Geese, woodpeckers and so much more.
This 3-acre, picturesque, fly fishing only Lochan is stocked with grade “A” Rainbow, Blue, Brown and Tiger Trout ranging from 2lb – 20lb. There is also a good head of stunning wild brown trout and grass carp.
The Lochan is fed from the Skipperton burn, providing a continuous flow of fresh water through the fishery. This along with the beautiful natural surroundings creates ample feeding for the fish and makes Burnhouse one of the best venues for dry flies, buzzers, nymphs and fry patterns.
At Burnhouse we value our anglers. Our hard working team consisting of manager May who is in the Scotland ladies fly fishing team and bailiffs Scott and Richard are dedicated to providing the best service possible in order to achieve a greater experience for all. From a friendly welcome in our Scandinavian style cabin where you can purchase tickets, flies and a range of hot and cold food and drinks, to ensuring that the fishery is maintained to the highest standards. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced anglers who will happily offer tips and advice.
